North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
Located in Raleigh, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is one of the largest natural science museums in the southeastern United States. You can visit this amazing attraction at 11 W Jones St, Raleigh, NC 27601. The museum's collections include over 1.7 million specimens. The museum is also one of the most popular tourist attractions in North Carolina. In 2013, the museum had over one million visitors. The museum offers educational programs and hands-on activities for families and schools. The museum also has a gift shop and a cafe. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, but hours may change during holiday weeks.

The Natural History Museum of North Carolina is divided into two collections. The first is the Nature Exploration Center, which includes exhibits and live animal displays. The second is the Nature Research Center, which houses fossils and fossil showcases. There are also five glass-walled research laboratories for visitors to observe scientists at work.
The Nature Research Center is a newer building and offers many opportunities for visitors to experience science. The museum's three investigative labs are open to the public and allow visitors to perform experiments led by museum educators. The labs focus on microbiology and biotechnology. The building's fourth floor features a Living Conservatory, which features tropical dry forest habitat and live animals. The Living Conservatory is home to two-toed sloth, turtles, arthropods, and plants. The exhibit is also home to a windowed chamber that displays developing butterflies. The third floor has an exhibit about the natural history of North Carolina.
The museum's living collection includes fish, amphibians, and reptiles. The NRC also features a submersible ride that takes visitors thousands of feet below the surface of the Atlantic Ocean. The ride features crabs, schools of squid, and other curious creatures.
The Natural History Museum also features a three-story theater that is located in the center of the building. The theater features a large, 42-foot-tall screen that displays natural science information. The theater also hosts live animal visits. It is also home to the SECU Daily Planet, which features live programming and clips of the Earth. The SECU Daily Planet is also home to a recreation of a dry tropical forest.
The Natural History Museum also has a special exhibit called Dueling Dinosaurs. This exhibit is set to open in early 2023. The exhibit will feature exhibits about the ancient world of dinosaurs and how new technology is making it possible to study the natural world.
The Natural History Museum also has specialized exhibits for children, such as the Discovery Room, which is a family-friendly hands-on exhibit. It includes a timeline, human-made objects, and natural and live specimens. In addition to live animals and exhibits, the Natural History Museum has a gift shop and two cafes.
The museum's collections contain over 1.7 million specimens, and visitors are able to see them up close and personal. In addition to observing the specimens and animals, visitors can also learn about the history of the museum and North Carolina's natural history. There are also special exhibits such as Researching Weather, which demonstrates methods used by scientists to study weather.
